The Bastei is easy to reach from here if you’re fit, and the ferry, local restaurants, and market square are all close by. We had a comfortable-sized room, sufficient breakfast, and great Wi-Fi. The owner was nice and checked every morning to see if everything was all right. We could hear the church clock chime, but it didn’t bother us.

The six days went by so quickly. Mrs. Schönherr made time for a chat with us over breakfast each morning, and the breakfast itself was lovely and delicious. The accommodation is charming and cozy, with real hospitality. I can wholeheartedly recommend this holiday home.

While we were hiking the Malerweg trail, a very kind landlady took us in at short notice. The rooms felt warmly and lovingly run, and breakfast was delicious. We also had a great view of the Wehlen market square, and the price was good. Highly recommended.

A week still wasn’t long enough, so we’ll have to come back. Like it or not!

The rooms are really nice, and the location is handy for the Painters' Way.
