Elbresidenz am Nationalpark

We’re here with our young children in the nearly 40 sq m apartment, and it has everything we need, from hand soap and dish tablets to a fridge and kitchenette. The double bed in the bedroom and proper double sofa bed in the living room are both comfortable, with a really good spring mattress on the sofa bed. The linen and towels were excellent, too. Breakfast was delicious, and the place is spotlessly clean. A lovely little gem.

The house, rooms, and view are fantastic, but for the price I expected more flexibility and a better breakfast than the 8-9 a.m. serving window. Our terrace room was also constantly disturbed by the storage room right beside it. The “host” used that as a reason to keep looking into our room. The welcome on arrival was a 6! We won’t be back unless the owners have changed.

The rooms are spacious and clean, and parking comes with the room rate. It’s a very nice neighborhood, too. The downsides were the modest breakfast and the lack of information or communication in languages other than German.

The Elbe-side garden is beautifully placed, though the tables and chairs need regular wiping or they look a bit grubby. One of the loungers is broken and could be removed to make the area tidier. The house is extremely noisy, and the parking spot right by the door is so narrow that careless parking by another guest can leave you stuck 😢. We stayed in a two-person holiday apartment with a kitchen and didn’t really lack anything. The location is lovely and makes a great base for hikes in the Elbe Sandstone Mountains. One more thing, charging two euros for the Wi-Fi password feels really outdated. PS: We sell the Wi-Fi password for 1 euro 😉
