A nice place to stay in a small village.

NEVER AGAIN. The room was so unhygienic that I chose to sleep in my car. I’m self-employed and have seen a lot, but this was something else. At breakfast the next morning, I reported the dirty room, broken lights, awful smell, and unidentifiable remains from the previous occupant in the shower drain. They took the complaint and said they’d sort it out. After work, I was told to check back at “African Sky,” which apparently belongs to the same group. They said my room had been cleaned and sent me back to Stay Easy. The friendly receptionist knew about my complaint, though not the problems themselves, and admitted they constantly get complaints about the rooms’ condition. I went back to the room and saw that nothing had changed or been cleaned apart from one towel. I called the flagship hotel, African Sky, and they said a Mr. F. (thanks to data protection laws) would come to clarify things. After a full hour, I called to ask when he’d arrive. They hung up on me. When I called again, Mr. F. surprisingly said he’d already waited five minutes, found nobody there, and left. He also claimed I’d been waiting drunk in the parking lot, which wasn’t true. When I asked whether he liked getting negative feedback, he said he didn’t care. That’s no way to treat customers.
It’s a basic place to stay, clean enough, with an adequate breakfast, but the rooms feel very dated, like they’re from the mid-80s. The Wi-Fi can be really weak at times. My room still had a CRT television with awful picture quality, and it kept telling me the signal would be switched off in three days.
It’ll do for a single night, but otherwise I’d book somewhere else. I travel a lot and stay in hotels every week, and this one is only worth a visit. The room was very sparsely furnished, cleanliness was okay, and breakfast wasn’t worth mentioning.
They keep asking if you can leave early even though you booked the room for those dates. If you say you’re not sure about leaving a day early, they promptly double-book the room and move you from the double you booked to a single. Wouldn’t recommend it.
