We’ve been traveling as a family of four for a while and have probably booked around 12 holiday homes. This one was in a league of its own. There’s a really nice little corner shop right beside the house, with homemade cakes and great tips. The home is very central, right by the pedestrian zone, about five minutes away. It’s next to the slums of Werningerode, and the castle is a 15-minute walk. Two parking spaces are nearby, which works well for small cars but gets exciting with larger vehicles. The house has been beautifully modernized with lots of wood, real flowers, and lovely pictures. Everything is tastefully furnished, and a lovely welcome package was waiting for us. It’s accessed with a PIN code instead of a traditional key. The kitchen is fully equipped, with a large fridge and various appliances, and there were even all the consumables we needed. There are a few stairs, so it’s well suited to mobile families with young children, but less so for anyone with knee problems. For breakfast, there’s a great pastry shop five minutes away with good rolls and delicious morning cakes. For outings, we’d recommend the castle, the fairytale trail to the Kaiserturm (Imperial Tower), Bürgerpark (Citizens' Park), and the wildlife park. We ate at Castillo, which has a great beer garden and excellent pasta and pizza. It’s popular, so book ahead. The forest pool is also great for children and not too expensive. The house costs a bit more than other apartments, but it offers more amenities, a great location, and thoughtful furnishings. We’ll be back.

We had a wonderful stay in Wernigerode, the three of us, two adults and a child. The apartment was spotless and tidy, with everything we needed. Its rustic furnishings suit the half-timbered house really well. We could easily walk to both the castle and the old town, and the view of Wernigerode Castle was lovely. Arrival and departure were smooth. Highly recommended.

The landlords were super friendly, and parking right outside the door was convenient. It’s a nice little apartment for two to four people, simply furnished but with everything needed in the furniture and kitchen. There’s also a view of Wernigerode Castle.

The courtyard is small and charming, with attractive rustic furniture, and in summer you can barbecue or have breakfast there. The apartment itself is pretty, clean, and cozy, with room for three. It’s in an excellent location. There’s no parking right at the apartment, but plenty nearby, about 50-100 meters away.
