The landlady is really nice, and the house itself is pleasant. It’s a shame the property isn’t fully fenced, since our dog got out. The bathroom heating also needs attention. When temperatures were below freezing, it never got warm in there, which wasn’t comfortable.

The house is quiet and still close enough to the center, and the furnishings are actually very good. But even with the outside temperature at 8 degrees Celsius, the living room was already cold. The windows are badly warped and let in drafts, while the heating in both the living room and bathroom is too weak for cold weather. There was enough hot water for about a three-minute shower, then it turned cold. At first glance the place looked clean, but closer inspection showed dust and cobwebs in the corners. Cleanliness could be better. I wouldn’t book here in winter, since it could get uncomfortable once it’s really cold.
The quiet location is a plus, with good hiking nearby, and the kitchen is very well equipped. We were a couple with a baby and two medium-sized dogs. On the phone we were told the property was fully fenced, but it wasn’t, which wasn’t ideal for the dogs. The furnishings are showing their age, and some lamps didn’t work, so the electrical system and furniture both need attention. The landlady also lectured us for leaving the dogs alone in the house, saying, "I don't think that's right." We found that inappropriate and accusatory. The dogs can be left for short periods, such as when going into town, and we wouldn’t have left them if they couldn’t. It felt like an invasion of our privacy.
We spent a few days there with the kids in January. The bungalow is in a handy spot, easy to get around from, and quiet. There are a few small signs of wear, and the heating in the living room and bathroom was too weak. The landlord brought an oil-fired radiator for the living room.
We had a lovely short stay in May, and I can see why reviews range from one star to five. The location, comfort, friendly owners, and option to bring a small dog are hard to beat. The owners live next door but leave you in peace. There’s a terrace and an almost fully fenced garden, though there’s a small accessible gap behind the house on the way to the garbage area. The space and cleanliness were absolutely fine. A few spots under the bed and in some drawers hadn’t been freshly wiped, but most of the older house was very well kept and clean. Despite its age, we couldn’t find any hint of mold. Hats off to the owners. There are things that could be improved: hot water comes from an instantaneous heater with a rather small storage tank, so short showers are the norm. The linoleum adhesive is coming loose in places, the Wi-Fi is slow because it runs through a powerline adapter, and some old furniture and furnishings could be replaced. At the dining table, the fourth person has a wall right in front of their feet. We gave it five stars because of the value for money. Comparable, more modern places in the area could easily cost twice as much. We’ve attached a few photos. The dim lighting makes them a bit flattering, and some were taken with a wide-angle lens, but they capture the atmosphere well.
