The apartment's view of the timber houses was lovely, and it was only a 3-minute walk to the town hall. We liked Wernigerode's center much more than nearby Unesco town of Quedlinburg. We were surprised to see a low score in an earlier review, because our stay as a couple was close to perfect. We picked up the keys at the hairdresser's saloon downstairs. The landlady gave us all the information we needed, and we communicated in German. There was a spacious parking place right beside the house. The apartment was quite well equipped, though towels weren't provided, and we missed having a cutting board and a cork screw in the kitchen. There was a decanter, though :)

We've stayed here twice now, once in each of the two apartments, and both are lovely. We were welcomed very warmly, and having the town hall only a few minutes' walk away is really convenient. There is private parking too. It's a wonderful base in a charming town, and it'll be our first choice next time we visit.

The second apartment has only two windows and none in the kitchen, which I find a real shame. It makes airing the place out difficult, and it gets stuffy and hot. Apart from that, everything has been very good so far :)
