Really good, superb.

The children’s facilities were a real highlight, with foosball, billiards, ping-pong, bowling, a gym, and an indoor play area with toys, a slide, and a big ball pit. The play spaces are thoughtfully done, and parents can sit on benches and enjoy the mountain view. The spa and sauna are adequate, and even toddlers are catered for, though older kids may find them dull. We were very happy with our stay and pleasantly surprised by the food. The breakfast, lunch, and dinner buffets had more than enough choice for everyone, and the desserts were delicious. Sunday’s scrambled eggs with bacon and fruit salad were plenty for a weekly treat. A big compliment to the kitchen for serving such good food at these prices. The house is lovely and carefully designed. The lobby feels cozy and modern, and the contemporary dining room has a fantastic view. Our room was perfectly fine, and the family room setup was a great idea: a separate children’s room with bunk beds, something we hadn’t seen before. Our one complaint was a serious paperfish infestation in the rooms. They aren’t silverfish, and an exterminator would be needed to clear them from all the rooms.

We had a very satisfying stay at the beginning of December through the VDK (Association of Socially Disadvantaged People). The Allgäuhaus is somewhat isolated, so anyone who has trouble walking would be better off arriving by car. It’s peaceful, though, and the area around Grüntensee is great for hiking. We also enjoyed outings to Lake Vilsalpsee, Füssen, Oberstdorf, and Sonthofen. My wife and I would gladly recommend the place. The staff in every area were so friendly and helpful. A huge thank you to them, and please pass that on to everyone! Our room, 210, was plain but practical. A toilet riser had already been fitted because of a disability. The drawback was that there was no Wi-Fi reception at all in that corner of the house. Meals were excellent, with a wide range of dishes each time and everything tasting really good. Families have a playground, indoor play options, and childcare. Adults can use the foosball, billiards, and bowling alley. There’s also a sports hall, swimming pool, and chapel.
