We actually slept fine, even though both of us prefer softer mattresses. These are hard, but mattress preference is personal. The room itself was great, and we could at least separate the beds. We had booked through booking.com as two best friends, one man and one woman, expecting a two-room apartment so we'd each have private space. The listing's photos showed different rooms they offer, and it wasn't clear to us that this was more like a studio. For a short stay, the kitchen had the basics: microwave, coffee machine, kettle, fridge, dishes, utensils, pans, and more. There's no dishwasher, but there's a sink to wash plates. The location worked well for Phantasialand or Cologne, with plenty of supermarkets and some basic restaurants nearby. Getting into the building was confusing at first. You need the six-number code ending in #, which comes by email after booking. The owner doesn't speak English, so that can be tricky, but you can call and ask him to send an SMS or WhatsApp message. He'll try to help in English, probably with Google Translate. That's how we found out where the Wi-Fi password was, and it worked out fine. We paid €210 for three nights, just €35 per person per night, which seems fair. Maybe this isn't five-star accommodation, but it definitely isn't a 2.9 either. Please stop bashing small business owners online. You could ruin someone's livelihood, so don't be that person.

The price was €230 for two nights, which was too much for what you get. I wouldn't return or recommend the place. I had to wait for the owner's representative to come and sort out the missing sheets on one bed. There were no clear directions about which apartment number to use. No dishwasher, washing machine, toilet or bedroom locks, or even a broom. They don't speak English, only German. Guys, it's time to go international and learn the most common language, English. The room was clean and cozy, with free Wi-Fi and a nice, flat-screen TV that was old-fashioned. That's about it. The sofa bed was very uncomfortable, and the bathroom fan roared like an airplane and couldn't be switched off. I couldn't sleep, it was a nightmare. The kitchen chair looks nice, but it isn't safe for kids or adults. The tap was one of the stupidest things I've seen. Turn on the water and it splashes everywhere, giving you a free clothes-on shower. I don't know how anyone could be such an idiot as to choose that tap. If you want to sleep at night, this is NOT the place for you!

I've stayed here several times, and it's a good place with plenty of room and very clean. Self check-in is easy. The only trouble was on my first visit, when I wasn't sure which room was mine. It hasn't been a problem since.
