6/10
The beef tartare in the restaurant was excellent as an appetizer, though I would've preferred a larger portion instead of a fireworks display on the plate. It's a simple, beautiful dish, not a fun-filled affair. The hotel is clean and everything works, even if its glory days seem to be behind it. Breakfast is modest but has what you need. I'd only stay here for a short visit.

2/10
The hotel is extremely overpriced, with numerous other deficiencies. The building needs renovating, the rooms need decorating, and the carpets need replacing. It has wifi, but it doesn't work. Frustratingly, it was full, so they'll keep getting away with it.

The staff are friendly and breakfast is good. The rooms are okay, but much too expensive, even with the hotel near Cologne.

I was staying close to the shell oil refinery, and had a very nice stay. The internet was great and free, and the showers were really nice.
