Holiday Inn Express Wiesbaden by IHG

The hotel itself is okay, but it’s expensive for what you get, and I wouldn’t book it with my own money. There’s no room service now, so you have to go downstairs to order food and drinks, which are quite expensive. The technology is very old: I couldn’t stream from my phone to the TV. Shampoo ran out in my room and was never replaced, and rooms are only cleaned every four days, which is ridiculous. Breakfast was very basic for the price, with few choices beyond eggs, bread and cheese, and it wasn’t very good. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel.

Cash was taken from my room, and the hotel didn’t cooperate. They told me to file a complaint at the police station. I’d kept the money in a hidden pocket of my sling bag with my passports because there was no room safe. I filed a police complaint, but after two weeks I still hadn’t heard back from them. I

We only spent one night here on our way home, and I can’t see a reason to return for any purpose. I’ve stayed at many IHG three-star hotels, and this one doesn’t meet that standard. I wouldn’t give it even two stars. We checked into two rooms at 9 pm. At the desk, we waited 15 minutes while one receptionist helped a visitor, which was fine, but the other seemed more focused on selling water bottles than helping. In one room the shower drain was nearly blocked, and after one shower the water almost overflowed. The other room looked like the hotel had once been a home for the elderly. Neither room had a safe, and there were stains behind the sink from previous guests. There was only English Breakfast tea, whereas three-star places usually offer a selection. Breakfast was awful: poor and watered down. The soft-boiled eggs were hard, the omelets had so much flour you could barely tell they contained eggs, and the few vegetables looked days old. I make a much better breakfast at home. The covered car park has only about 15 spaces, half of them for disabled parking or electric charging. The remaining spaces are outside, with awkward access to the elevator and the hotel.

We were staying in three rooms, and two had run out of shower gel and shampoo, so those guests couldn’t shower. We called the desk and spoke with a thin, dark-skinned male staff member. At around 10:55 PM on 3/8/2025, he told us to change rooms immediately, but we’d already unpacked and couldn’t move at that late hour. He then asked us to wait another 10 minutes and said he’d get back to us, but no one did. We went down with both empty shower-gel bottles and asked for replacements. The staff member gave us a new bottle, but we never received an apology. We found the service very poor and don’t think other customers should be treated this way. Customer service needs more ethics. If you aren’t ready to work in service, it would be better to rest at home. Thank you.
