Wildeshauser Bahnhof

Email replies were quick and friendly. We’ve now stayed twice in the same room, which was clean and comfortably set up both times. The bathroom is roomy and modern, and there’s a little kitchenette too. The railway tracks are practically beside the room, but with the windows shut we couldn’t hear anything outside. The bed was in good shape, and the mattresses didn’t have that gap between them, which is hard to find these days.

After a 500 km bus trip, I got to the door at 1:30 in the morning expecting the room I’d booked by phone. It simply wasn’t there. I’d called about a room recommended by the local inn, or pub, and was met with, “Do you know what time it is? We want to sleep.” I would’ve liked to sleep too, in a proper room with a bed. That service is unacceptable, and I’ll never book there again. I can only warn other people. Plenty seems to be wrong there, aside from the draft beer while loud German pop plays, though apparently nobody minds.

Everything we needed was in the room, including a little kitchenette and a roomy bathroom, and the room itself was fine. The trouble was the small pub next door. Its patrons were still making a lot of noise very close to our room late at night.

The bathroom was fantastic, especially the luxury shower, and the room was large with air conditioning, a real plus in midsummer. There’s a small kitchenette too, though a coffee machine would be handy for caffeine addicts. It was absolutely worth the price, payment was very flexible, and I’d happily stay again.
