Landhotel Classhof

The room was large and clean, but the price felt too high for what was offered. Although the towels were replaced each day, they didn't replenish the toilet paper or shower gel and shampoo. Since no one was at reception from early afternoon onward, we couldn't ask for more, and ended up unable to shower on our last day. Breakfast was poor. It runs from 7 to 10, but we arrived at 8:30. The croissants had already run out on the first day, and we were told there were no more. The same thing happened with the orange juice on the second day.

Landhotel Classhof cancelled on us at the last minute, which was really disappointing. They initially blamed a water leak, but when I called, they admitted they'd overbooked and were taking better offers because of an exhibition in Dusseldorf. That's awful customer service. They offered neither compensation nor another place to stay. Sometimes booking with a larger hotel chain makes more sense. I wouldn't recommend Landhotel Classhof.

A lovely, peaceful place with a cozy room. On the first floor, though, people pass close to the window and can see inside. The breakfast selection was poor.

I was also astonished that the receptionist, a young woman, didn't know English. In my life, I'd never before encountered that with a receptionist at a three-star hotel.
