Göbel's Hotel Am Park

Breakfast was a strong point: there was plenty to choose from, the food was fresh, and dishes were topped up even when it got busy. They had fruit, several breads, cheeses and cold cuts, plus scrambled eggs and bacon. The coffee was good too, and actually drinkable, unlike vending machine coffee. At busy times the breakfast room could feel crowded and weekends got a bit hectic, so anyone after a quiet meal might want to go early or late. I also found the hotel well cared for and welcoming. The staff were friendly and attentive throughout, and check-in felt professional without being stuffy. My room was spacious, clean, and nicely furnished. It was peaceful, which made it easy to unwind after a long day, and the bed was comfortable. The modern bathroom was well maintained too.

The breakfast buffet was excellent and nearly made up for the other problems. We were six people there for a weekend, and the Goebel Hotel am Park is right in the center, handy for going out at night. Our room looked onto the spa park behind the hotel, so it stayed quiet. The rooms are badly dated, though. The furniture was worn, the mattresses sagged, the carpet was stained, and there were cobwebs on the ceiling. It's bearable for a short stay, but service was another issue: the check-in and check-out staff seemed overwhelmed and were rude to several guests. We emailed a complaint and never got a reply. We won't book here again.

I had several complaints and emailed management right after my hotel stay. Nearly four weeks have passed without even a response. At Göbel's, it doesn't feel like guests are very welcome.

The indoor and outdoor pools were really great, and we'd book the annex again next time. Our room there was clean and functional, which was fine since we knew in advance where we'd be staying, though it was rather noisy at night. Breakfast and the swimming pool were across the street. Reception was super friendly and always ready to help.
