Gut Frauendorf

The view from the terrace over the greenery was fantastic, and the whole property is so inviting and beautifully cared for. The apartment was spotless and had absolutely everything we needed. What made the stay especially memorable was how warm and family-like it all felt. The lovely, considerate older owner welcomed us with a cold drink as soon as we arrived. We spent time together more than once and had some great conversations. At 90, this kind soul has so many wonderful stories to tell. It’s such a peaceful place to recharge. We spent four lovely days at the castle and in the surrounding area, and would gladly return. The room was clean and we slept well, though blackout curtains and a window screen would be helpful. Mr. Thoma and his team make the place feel warm and welcoming, and we felt at home. The castle is peaceful, right at the forest’s edge, with lovely views of woods and fields from the rooms and balcony. The entrance to the Sieben Brückerl Weg is about 200 meters away. It’s one of the prettiest walking routes we’ve taken, and a great place to run too. There’s a private pool supplied by its own spring, and we used it every day. A wonderful way to start the morning. You can also request a generous, lovingly prepared breakfast. We really enjoyed meeting Mr. Thoma, who even waved goodbye as we left. Wishing him and the team good health and all the best!

It feels like a rare chance to be alone with nature, perfect if you’re looking for peace and quiet. The hotel sits amid endless shades of green, and you can feel the fresh air as you breathe. From the outside, it looks like a fairytale castle. Mr. Thoma greeted me with a warm smile, and going up the stairs brought a strange, mysterious beauty that made me feel both a little afraid and delighted. Mr. Thoma gently gave me the key and left. Inside the room, I was struck by the age of the castle and all the lives its walls must have seen. The room was charming and clean, with a magnificent view. Highly recommended. The hosts were warm, kind, and positive. They showed us around and explained how everything worked, and we didn’t run into any problems. The place is beautiful and cozy, and I highly recommend it. The one drawback is that there isn’t really space or equipment for cooking. Apart from that, everything was fine.
