Gut Sunder Naturhotel

The café is in a pretty spot, with forest all around. The cake selection looked good on the menu, though we didn't get to try any. There were too many people for the staff to handle, and eventually they stopped taking orders, so we left.

The barbecue buffet is the highlight for us, though it's only available to groups with a reservation. We've worked our way through most of the menu too, and everything has been delicious and top quality. We also bought plenty of jams, cookies, and other treats. Gut Sunder has become one of our favorite spots since we first stumbled across it. It's set right in nature, so leave time for a walk. In summer, there's a lovely terrace beneath a huge tree in front of the manor house. In winter, you can sit by the fireplace in the cozy half-timbered interior. The café is run by the Lobetal Group with support from people with disabilities, and that doesn't take away from the experience. If anything, it helps us slow down and take life a bit less seriously. Thank you! The restrooms are very clean, too.

That plum cake was delicious, still a little warm with a really crisp crumb topping. We dropped in after walking around Hüttensee lake. It's a great spot, and we'd have sat outside if the weather had been better. Our dog was welcome inside, and the staff were friendly, attentive, and welcoming. We'd happily come back.
