Good.

The apartment is really nice and spacious, with all the basics you need, and it’s close to the ski slopes. I did miss having Wi-Fi and a dishwasher, though.
The beds were fine and the pillows quite soft, but the stay had several problems. We paid €120 p.p. in summer for what we understood to be a two-bedroom basement apartment, since it sleeps six with four beds in one room and two in another. On arrival, though, one of the double beds was in the living room. It was generally cool downstairs unless we left the windows open. By the last few days, we noticed an unpleasant smell. At first we figured it was from six people in a fairly small space, but then found a bag of rotting lemons in a cupboard. While cleaning on the last day, we also found mold in every corner under the beds. The shower drain had been slow from the start, and the bathroom smelled like a sewer. There were also 6-8 flies in each room, perhaps because of the lemons. The kitchen has an electric hotplate stove and an oven below it, as well as a toaster, kettle, fridge, and dishwasher. There’s no freezer. The place looks nice, which is why I’m giving it a second star, but otherwise it wasn’t much to write home about. There is Wi-Fi through the “freifunk” network, which covers almost the whole neighborhood, and the internet works fine. The fun we had came from the trip, not the accommodation. The center, Lidl, and Rewe are technically walkable, but it’s quite a trek, especially with groceries. A taxi from Lidl cost ten euros including tip. There are plenty of clothing shops and restaurants in the center. We tried almost every place serving schnitzel, and our top three, in no particular order, were Schnitzelhaus on the main street, Hotel Hessenhof, and Voldampf at Central Hotel, the one with the steam locomotive on its sign. P.S. KEEP THE NOTE ABOUT THE DEPOSIT. If you lose it, you won’t get your deposit back. Nobody told us this, but a friend found it in another review, so hold on to the note.
The room was nice, but the shared areas felt run-down. The hall carpet looks like it hasn’t been replaced in years, and the price seemed high for what we got. I wouldn’t book again at that rate.
You’re right by Kappe adventure mountain, with its bike park, playground, and more. The apartment itself has been beautifully renovated, and the bathroom is great, with a panoramic photo across the shower wall.
