Hapimag Resort Winterberg

Getting luggage to the accommodation was the one tricky part, since some places involve steep hills up and down. Backpacks would make that easier. Otherwise, we had a great experience and would come again. We loved the location, the restaurant was brilliant, the spa was great, and the kids had a pool and activities. The rooms were lovely as always, and the walks were perfect for dog owners like us.

A good base for Winterberg, with ski slopes nearby and walking routes for hikes or a stroll into the city center. The HAPIMAG resort has clean rooms with small kitchens for cooking, plus an indoor pool, wellness facilities, and a large garage with EV charging stations. I can recommend it.

The rooms are modern, new, comfortable, and well equipped. The heating was great, a real blessing for us coming from the UK. The massage is highly recommended. The pool and outdoor hot tubs are nice, though cold, so they weren’t really pleasant for swimming or splashing around with friends or kids. The sauna and steam bath are no-textile, which some people like and others don’t. It’s a brilliant spot for skiing, with lifts and rental places a five-minute drive away. If you’re traveling with children, though, there aren’t many indoor activities.

The apartment was okay and the location was nice. The beds were a letdown: the pull-out sofa was horrible, and the regular beds had very hard mattresses and felt short for a tall guy. The chairs were uncomfortable too, especially the ones on the balcony.
