Hotel Oversum Winterberg

The spa was clean and well cared for, and we really enjoyed using it. Our room was roomy and comfortable, and the little things for the kids stood out: slippers and their own care kit with special shower gel, shampoo, body lotion, and a wet cleaning paper. The service was excellent and the location worked well for us. Such a beautiful hotel.

The staff were so friendly and attentive, and breakfast had everything we wanted. We also loved being able to unwind in the spa. My husband and I had a perfect stay at Hotel Oversum, surrounded by nature, with beautiful architecture inside and out and spacious rooms. I'd absolutely recommend it.

After a day skiing or hiking, that huge jacuzzi is fantastic. The indoor pool has a diving board and slide, and there's an outdoor pool too, though I visited in winter. The Big Egg building is iconic, and the room views are great. Breakfast buffet was great as well, and the bar had good wine. There are several restaurant options within walking distance, and reception staff were friendly and helpful in both German and English. Parking is the one drawback: the lot wasn't large enough, partly because the pool is public and people drive in to swim. Still, I'd be glad to return to this good base for skiing in the Sauerland.

The balcony view was phenomenal, and the location is lovely, close to nature while still near the city centre. Our room was very nice, and the spa has lots of different facilities. It can get short on places to rest when many people are using it at once. Breakfast was a letdown, with very limited choice for what I expected from a four-star hotel, and our room windows were really dirty. The rest was fine, though, and I'd still recommend spending a few days here in the Sauerland. Just keep breakfast expectations modest.
