My partner and I stayed for two weekend nights, and it was a really bad experience. Our ticket was supposed to include parking and a mini train ticket, but we never got it. They said they couldn't press the button and had contacted info@winterberg.de, but they had no access to it. We went back to discuss it, and still got nothing, not even 10 euros as compensation. We had to pay for the ticket ourselves, so we could have saved that cost. The guesthouse was very unfriendly, and 198 euros felt overpriced. I wouldn't recommend it. Never again.

The place is basic, but spotlessly clean and in a great location. Everything is within walking distance. I'd happily stay again.

The hostess was friendly, and breakfast was excellent, though it was the same every day. The rooms felt dated, the beds need replacing, and the rooms could be cleaner. The maintenance is due for an update too.

At breakfast, the owner shared some interesting stories about the area and gave us tips for things to do. My wife and I had a great weekend in Winterberg. The guesthouse is central, only a few minutes from the market square. Our room was small and simple, but perfectly adequate and very clean. We highly recommend it.

We found it a good, affordable base for exploring the Sauerland region. The welcome was lovely, breakfast was good, and a beer in the evening was fairly priced. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom clean. It's quiet but right in the middle of things, with the main shops, restaurants, and pubs all walkable. Bikes or motorcycles can be kept in a garage.
