Villa Ennert

There’s room to park three cars, and a big lawn with a large tree and a terrace where the mobile gas barbecue worked perfectly. The house has pretty much everything a family could want, apart from a swimming pool. Little ones could use an inflatable pool, and older kids could go to the municipal indoor/outdoor pool 200 meters away. We found out too late that the indoor pool was closing on May 14th, and it had no water in it anyway. A shame. The house sleeps 10 in five large bedrooms, plus a children’s room with its own crib and a bunk bed. There are five toilets. Upstairs is an attic play area with a TV and DVD player. On the first floor are four bedrooms, including the children’s room, two very large bathrooms, and a separate toilet. The ground floor has two bedrooms, one with a TV and Xbox, plus a bathroom with toilet, living room, and roomy kitchen. There’s plenty to do in the basement: a small billiards table, table tennis, darts, shuffleboard, foosball, and a laundry room with washer, dryer, and an extra fridge. Everything is provided except food and drinks. A few things could be better. There were lots of flies, though I didn’t see mosquitoes or horseflies, and we even put up a fly screen. Cleaning could be more thorough: in places you could feel cobwebs, and there were webs and dusty clumps in some corners. It might help to check the house quickly before new guests arrive, instead of only cleaning when people leave.

We spent five days at Villa Ennert.it in early December with five couples. The owner’s communication, the service, and the facilities and accommodations all matched what the website said, completely accurately. There’s easy access to sightseeing and other leisure activities. We’re already planning another stay for 2023 and are looking forward to coming back.

The basement kept us entertained with a pool table, table tennis, foosball, and shuffleboard. It’s a good setup for a stay with young children, and Winterberg is close by. Hiking trails in the mountains start right from the house. It’s a lovely, large place with a well-equipped interior and a big garden.

The kitchen is generously stocked with appliances, cookware, and dishes, and the bathrooms are roomy. The home is modern, tidy, and very comfortable, with parking on the property. A bakery is an easy walk away, while the supermarket takes a few minutes by car. A lovely, luxurious holiday house for a large family.
