This long-established Hotel Garni sits in a quiet spot, handy for exploring Wismar on foot. The staff were pleasant and helpful, the beds very comfortable, and the recently renovated hotel was clean, with good parking and an outdoor seating area. There’s a large lounge upstairs with drinks and snacks for self-service at extra cost. Keep in mind that breakfast, the bed tax, parking at 4€ per day, and the rather expensive drinks and snacks all cost extra on top of the basic rate.

No complaints from me. The room was nice and big, and parking had plenty of space. The location was excellent, and everything was handled without contact. Communication before arrival was great.

I’ve stayed in a lot of hotels while visiting sawmills in Sweden, Denmark, and northern Germany for my job at a US lumber grading agency. Fründt's Hotel is one of the very best I’ve experienced, and I’m sure I’ll be back. There are three restaurants about three blocks south, all worth a visit: Der Schwedenwache, Der Alter Schwede, and An der Wasserkunst. The meal I had last night was the best I’ve had on my travels in at least four months. It’s been an excellent visit in every way.
