The hotel is in a great spot for exploring everything in town. Our room was very clean and large, with a very high ceiling. It was simple, with Wi-Fi but no TV. The building was once the home of the famous 16th-century painters Cranach.

The Junior Suite was simply but elegantly designed, with a beautifully painted ceiling. Staying in such a historic building was remarkable, especially since the tower itself is 500 years old. Hotel staff were very friendly, and breakfast had plenty of choices, including homemade jams and salads. Thank you!

Breakfast was generous and delicious, and the staff were warm and attentive without hovering. I stayed in one of the monks' rooms, with the toilet down the hall, which made for a wonderfully authentic experience, almost like being here hundreds of years ago. The old building sits right on the market square on Schlossstrasse, along the road to the Castle Church where Luther nailed his theses. Its thick walls kept things quiet and comfortable.
