Schluister Park

We were left scrambling for somewhere else to stay at the last minute, which made for a stressful and unhappy start to our vacation. Then, as we were leaving, the manager asked us to pay a cancellation fee of 90% of the room rate for all 3 nights. We’ve never been treated so badly by a professional establishment in all our years of travelling around the world. We won’t return or recommend this hotel. We’d booked 3 nights after reading all the glowing reviews. After a long journey, we arrived and were told that our booked room was upstairs and only reachable by stairs, with no wheelchair access. My husband is paraplegic, so we couldn’t get to it. I’d specifically requested either a ground-floor room or one accessible by lift on the booking form. The manager checked the booking and confirmed that, but said it was still our fault because the website description said the room wasn’t accessible by lift. I knew that couldn’t be right, as I hadn’t seen that information anywhere on the site. We would have taken another accessible room for the 3 nights, but the hotel was full, so we had to cancel through no fault of our own. This hotel isn’t suitable for disabled people or anyone with mobility issues, and the staff were unsympathetic.

A top hotel.

The food was especially good. A nice hotel and restaurant.

Really lovely staff and people.
