It was really quiet at night, and the rooms felt modern and very nice. The service was kind, and the food was tasty with some unusual touches, though it took a while to arrive. Prices are on the high side for this area, but I'd still recommend it.

The outdoor seating gives the place a nice atmosphere, and the service was friendly. For a small town, it sets its sights a little higher, but the solid, good food lived up to that. I'd book ahead.

There are Nordic dishes alongside World Franconian choices, and the restaurant is outstanding. Even the “comfort” room goes beyond the name: ours came with a sauna.

The steaks were excellent, the spätzle was homemade, and the portions were bigger than usual. Wine, beer, and dessert were satisfying too, all at fair prices. The staff were professional, and I can't think of anything negative to say. Alte Vogtei is listed as a hotel, but it also has a restaurant with a varied menu. It's on the outskirts of Nuremburg, in the quiet town of Wolframs-Escenbach, and I highly recommend it.
