We had the best schnitzel we’d tasted in ages, and everything else felt good and special too. The Google price showed 165, which we’d have happily paid for that quality, but our bill for a double room and breakfast came to 135. Thank you.

The beer garden is cozy and has a nice feel, and we liked the place itself. What brought down the rating was the service. Our group of four felt the waitress acted as if serving us was a favor. In our experience, rude or lazy service seems fairly common in Germany. And asking for something special clearly wasn’t welcome.

The portion of cold roast pork with bread and mixed salad was huge, and it tasted excellent. It’s a very rustic tavern, with quick, friendly service.

The room was spacious and spotless, with everything I needed, though nothing fancy. The staff were very friendly, and the place has its own parking. It’s an inexpensive stay in a lovely old building, kept in good shape and very much in the Bavarian village style, with a beautiful Biergarten in the backyard. I’d stay again, and one piece of pork isn’t enough to spoil a great overall experience. Still, the dinner was a letdown: I ordered the “Feurige Zigeuner....” listed as pork loin with chips and spicy sauce, but the meat definitely wasn’t loin. It was still tasty, and I was too tired to complain, but they should have told me about the substitution and checked whether I was okay with it before serving.
