We stopped in for lunch and were welcomed warmly. The food was good and reasonably priced, so it felt like good value. A nice spot for lunch!

The rooms aren't worth €120 a night. It's a pity they don't seem to understand business. The Indian family were nice, friendly, and willing to help, but the manager chose to lose a customer over €6 for a glass of rubbish AfriCola. She wanted to win the argument, and we won't be back.

That courtyard really stuck with me: the owner grows all sorts of plants there, each one labeled, and used to show them at exhibitions. The hotel feels like a trusted home away from home for both business travelers and vacationers, and among the six places we stayed on this trip, it was our favorite by far. We'd return to Hotel Mennicken if we ever come back to the Aachen area. There are plenty of parking spaces, and check-in is easy, with the host or hostess taking you to your room. The little bierstube is charming and has several beers on tap. The kitchen turns out a wide range of tasty German classics. Rooms are clean and comfortable, with WiFi and breakfast that includes eggs made to order. Lots of attention to detail, and hardly anything seems to be missing. Germans can be reserved, but they warm up quickly if you make an effort. Highly recommended, it deserves six stars.

The apartments are spacious, clean, and tidy. It's a fresh, quiet location that's easy to get to, and the breakfast was amazing.

A clean, cozy place with friendly, helpful staff who were patient too. They have Kegeln here, a great traditional German version of bowling, also called ninepins.
