Maritim Hotel Würzburg

We had a good room, fast internet, and a comfortable bed with nice pillows. The food was excellent, and the bar had a huge selection. A very nice hotel.

I had a really enjoyable stay for several nights on a solo trip, though I was unsure what to expect after reading the mixed comments. I booked a discounted single room in the attic. It was compact, had little natural light, and the vaulted ceiling was easy to bump your head on. Still, the layout felt cosy and the room had the facilities I needed, including 4-5 easy-to-reach sockets. The heating was adjustable and got very powerful, which mattered with outdoor temperatures near zero. The shower was clean, with steady hot water and strong pressure. The swimming pool was small and clean, though the water felt quite cold when I first got in. I didn't eat breakfast there because I was busy elsewhere. The front desk and room service staff were friendly and helpful. It's in a convenient spot near a tram station, and the city centre is within walking distance. The area gets very quiet in the evening. I'm not sure whether the place had recently been upgraded.

The town itself is lovely to see, and the Fortress has a diaorama of the whole city and its featured locations. Before we went there, our concierge, a charming gentleman, helped us check in early and had some fun banter with us. Our room was spacious and clean. The split bed wasn't very comfortable for a couple who likes to cuddle, though the mattresses were supportive. I struggled to figure out how to angle the shower head and got water outside the shower, but the water was warm and the pressure was great.

The shower was excellent, with plenty of room to move, strong pressure, and hot water almost straight away. The room/suite was clean, welcoming, and beautifully presented.
