Hotel Albergo Mamma Rosa

We found this to be a pretty good guesthouse, even if calling it a hotel feels a little off. The rooms are compact but workable, clean apart from a dirty bathroom vent, and furnished well enough. The double room furniture showed some wear, both bedside lights had loose connections and wouldn't work, and the single beds are only 90 cm wide. You can also hear a lot through the building. On our second night, the person next door spent hours talking loudly on the phone. Downstairs, the restaurant serves tasty food at fair prices, and the staff are very friendly. It has a bit of an Italian feel. There's no breakfast available, though, since the restaurant doesn't open until 11. Still, a decent place to stay.

I stopped in to eat, not to stay overnight. The owner was quick and had a good sense of humor, though I didn't care for the spaghetti carbonara.

The Italian restaurant on site was the highlight for me. The food was delicious, and the Italian gentleman serving it clearly takes pride in his work. The rooms have what you need too: a bed, TV, shower bathroom, makeup mirror, and the rest was perfectly adequate.

Mrs. Strühlein really makes this place, and she put together a lovely breakfast for our son's 18th birthday. It was generous and delicious. The attached restaurant is also a nice spot for an Italian dinner. Our room was roomy, clean, and renovated. A lovely little hotel, and many thanks!
