The main issue for us was the landlord. He was unfriendly from our first contact to the last, complained constantly, and answered curtly. It gave us the feeling he didn't want anyone in his house, which isn't what you want on a relaxing holiday. The apartments themselves were okay, but there were hazards like cables and splinters, so they didn't seem suitable for small children. The windows were poorly maintained, and the apartments were full of spiders, which could put some people off.

We were a group of four adults and two children, as we'd specified, but when we arrived on Sunday at “Villa Schwan,” only two bedrooms were open and the other two were locked. The landlord said he wouldn't unlock them unless we paid over €300 in cash. That was on top of an already very high final price, and the two bedrooms cost us over €300 more. The place was too hot throughout, and the floor-to-ceiling windows made it hard to air out. We didn't dare leave windows ajar overnight because of break-in concerns. It was also right on the main road, so there was unavoidable noise. The landlord had already spoiled my mood on Sunday, and we mostly stayed outside on the other days, returning only in the evenings. The furnishings didn't match the pictures. There was a shabby black leather sofa and a similarly poor armchair, and the wooden floor had knots and deep holes. In my room, where I slept with my two-year-old daughter, the sheets had holes and there were wood shavings by her pillow. I kept telling her to wear socks because of the splinter risk from the floor and missing baseboards. There seemed to be injury hazards everywhere, so I especially wouldn't recommend this place for children. The kitchen was barely equipped, if it could even be called a complete kitchen: no pot holders, no proper cutlery, and no instructions for the microwave, which meant we couldn't use it. There was an empty space beside the refrigerator with cables sticking out. Maybe there had been a dishwasher there before, who knows? We were told to use only the landlord's garbage bags, even though cleaning was included in the final price. We disposed of diapers and toilet paper ourselves during the stay, and the paper recycling wouldn't have lasted five days. The landlord said we should collect replacement bags ourselves, but there weren't any. The front door and windows looked shabby and dirty from outside. We had to ask for a vacuum cleaner because crumbs from a toddler, or children in general, are inevitable, and we didn't want to track them around all week. The large bathroom was the only good point, though even that had problems. The sides of the whirlpool tub looked haphazardly put together, there was some kind of packing tape stuck to the toilet, and the sinks were only partly covered. I can't recommend the accommodation at all. The landlord was very unfriendly and arrogant, the prices didn't make sense for what you get, and I felt completely uncomfortable there. 👎👎👎

The apartment was clean and the location very central, so it was okay overall. It could use a proper maintenance check, and the landlord didn't say much. Also, it's nothing like a villa.

The stay was good, and the place was tidy and really, really quiet. Things were a bit unusual because of coronavirus.

Goronco was super, super. I highly recommend it.
