Best Western Central

The front desk staff were nice, and the free pass was a plus. I also appreciated the water, sewing kit and laundry bag. But I kept getting woken up: people near their shop talked loudly, pigeons landed on the balcony, and the cleaners often started at 7 am, banging the door so mine bounced too. Otherwise, everything was okay.

Breakfast was good, and the staff were pleasant, though nothing especially memorable. The room itself was comfortable, but not quite clean enough: there was hair stuck to the bathroom wall and the floor needed cleaning.

The coffee machine at reception was the best part, since you could make coffee any time. There was also a nice spread at breakfast, and the little seating area outside the room was lovely for evening tea. The room was clean and had what I needed. The hotel is about a 3-minute walk from wuppertal hbf station, with shops and places to eat along the way, plus plenty of eateries nearby. Perfect location.

The soundproofing needs work. I could hear someone upstairs snoring so loudly it felt like they were in my room. Apart from that, it was all good: the hotel is centrally located, and my room was huge, almost unnecessarily so, with a bathroom bigger than the bedroom. Breakfast was just okay.
