We were three American couples staying in rooms 20, 21, and 22 on September 14 and 15. We were surprised by the negative reviews, since we didn’t experience any of those problems. Breakfast was very good, and we had a great stay. On the first night, we really enjoyed Isabel (spelling??), the young woman working in the bar and restaurant. She spoke English very well and was a real pleasure. We ate at the hotel that night, then walked about seven minutes to “Leonie’s” the next evening. We recommend that place too, but go early because it gets busy. We’d certainly recommend Schloss Wurzen hotel and restaurant.

The breakfast was great, and you can try local specialties at breakfast or in the restaurant. The restaurant is convenient, though the food isn’t especially memorable. The castle is a nice setting, and the rooms have been updated and look quite nice.

10/10
The hotel and restaurant are good, and the staff are professional and polite. They’re fine with spontaneous changes. Restoration is still underway to bring everything back in a historically accurate way, and they’re making the best of the situation. We toured the castle, where construction had left everything exposed and accessible. For architecture fans, that’s ideal.

The room was clean and good, though the pillows were much too soft for me. Others might like them. The hotel and restaurant were good, and the people were friendly. Its location worked very well for what we were doing, although the village itself is quiet.

With its long history, this is a very nice hotel and restaurant. The large conference rooms work well for big meetings. I recommend it to people in academia.
