Breakfast was a bright spot for us: the staff paid close attention to our requests and even brought out several vegan choices. The rooms were clean, though a few things felt makeshift, like bedrooms in the apartment without windows and a radiator that had been removed, leaving only its pipes. We came as a group for a nearby wedding and booked through Booking.com. On arrival, one room that had been marked ready still had used sheets and towels. They cleaned it afterward and apologized, but it made for a rough start. We also had an unexpected payment discussion because the amount they wanted was higher than the price shown on Booking.com. The booking itself had been troublesome too. For what we paid, the value was acceptable. I’d avoid booking through Booking.com in the hope of preventing misunderstandings.

The staff let us switch rooms after we complained. Breakfast at the country house about 300 meters away was fine and nicely laid out. The location is good, too, and the breakfast itself was okay. The rooms, though, were nothing like the description. There was mold in the bathroom, dirty dishes, a broken fridge, and broken bed frames that squeaked whenever we moved. The place looked like a pub that had been converted into a guesthouse, with old beer labels still on the windows and no windows in the bedrooms. The so-called garden had worn-out furniture and wasn’t somewhere you’d want to sit. It needs renovation to justify this price. It might do for someone with very basic expectations who just needs a night’s sleep, but I wouldn’t recommend a longer stay.

The only things in its favor were the location, with quick access to the lake, and an okay breakfast. That accounts for the two stars. For the money, there are much better places to stay. The six-bed room had no windows, mold in the bathroom, used glasses, and dirt left by previous guests on the floor and couch. Its double bed frame was broken, and every bed squeaked. The ground-floor apartments felt bare, dated, impersonal, and uncomfortable. The whole house looked run-down: the garden had no proper seating, and a crib and cardboard boxes were blocking the hallway. The refrigerator would stop working for a few hours at a time. When I raised the cleanliness problems, they were brushed off, and the response was rude. I was told I “had no say” because I was younger. There was very little genuine hospitality here, and the value was poor.

We arrived to find a moldy watermelon in the refrigerator. The cleanliness elsewhere was just as bad: dirty walls and dishes, cobwebs all over, mold on the bathroom ceiling, and an outdoor grill so filthy it was practically unusable. The online listing and photos don’t match what’s actually offered. Not every room has a kitchen, and there’s no Wi-Fi. The rooms weren’t nice, the beds were extremely uncomfortable, and some were broken. The staff were unprofessional. You’ll be lied to and ripped off. The owner or manager should take this as a warning. Stay away from this guesthouse. You can find somewhere a thousand times better for the same price.
