We’ve stayed at the villa twice and felt comfortable both times. The owner is very friendly, easy to chat with, and has helpful tips. Everything is clean and well kept, and the atmosphere is wonderful, almost like being at home. Breakfast is superb, served and arranged with great care. I love the place and everything about it.

I called to book almost the whole hotel for my wedding. At first he was friendly, said it could be done, and told me he’d check availability. After a long wait with no reply, I called again. He was rude and dismissive. I won’t recommend them to friends or family.

The house itself is lovely: a beautiful old villa with a garden, pond, and comfortable places to sit. The rooms are large and bright, with everything needed for a comfortable stay, including a fridge, kitchenette and dishes, coffee maker, and kettle. The bathroom is spacious, bright, and nicely done. The landlady is very friendly, and it’s incredibly quiet despite being fairly close to the city. Shops, gas stations, restaurants, and delivery options are plentiful nearby. My one comfort complaint was that the shower water was mostly lukewarm. I was there for work and was suddenly told to leave three days before my booking ended because vacationers had arrived and were apparently valued more than hospital patients. When I arrived, I was asked when I’d be leaving at the end of my booking, but nobody mentioned they didn’t intend to honor the full reservation. I explained that I’d have to sleep in my car since I couldn’t get another room until the next afternoon. I was told nothing could be done. As nice as the house is, I won’t choose to stay there again. It says a lot that a work guest was treated as less important than holidaymakers.

Our family of ten wanted to sit together at one table instead of splitting across two, and it had worked fine the last time. The hotel manager made our grandma cry and told us to choose a different hotel with a bigger breakfast room next time. You don’t speak to our grandma that way. Boo!

It’s the biggest guesthouse I’ve ever seen, with friendly service and great rooms that have everything you need. If you want to unwind in Zeitz, I’d highly recommend it. I’d give it six stars if I could.
