Villa Cella

The apartment was clean, nicely equipped, and had a beautiful view of the Mosel. We had a really nice stay and I'd happily come back.

Right in the town center, this was a clean, comfortable apartment with good beds. The housekeeper was nice too.

The location is great, and the apartment is large with plenty of potential, but the problems were hard to overlook. There was dirty underwear from the previous tenant in the bathroom cabinet, a dirty wool blanket in the closet, and the balcony ashtray hadn't been emptied. The windowsills were so dirty you could have drawn in the dust, and long cobwebs were hanging down where children could have climbed them. Every bed linen zipper was broken, as were the bulbs in three bedside lamps, and the blinds were stuck. The email said the landlord or housekeeper could be contacted with questions or complaints. I sent two complaint emails over three weeks and got no reply or compensation. They are just ignoring me. Unfortunately, this apartment only earns one star.

The owner was friendly and quick to respond, and when the heating had a problem, it was fixed quickly. The apartment was spacious, clean, and had all the amenities. We stayed on the top floor, reached by three flights of stairs, a decent warm-up before heading out for a walk. The shopping street is right outside, with a few nice restaurants and wine shops nearby. The windows are a little high, so you can't really enjoy the view from the sofa. The beds were okay but outdated, and the duvets felt a bit short by Dutch standards.
