Hotel Winzerverein

We paid extra for a balcony, and the lovely view over the Mosel river made it money well spent. The staff were friendly and attentive, the food was good and well priced, and there’s a nice sun garden and pool with both sunny and shady spots. Our stay was very pleasant. The one thing keeping it to four stars was the very hard bed and hopeless pillow.

The rooms were lovely and the service friendly. At checkout, though, we waited a good 15 minutes before anyone showed up. It’s not the end of the world, and may have been a one off. I’d still generally recommend the place.

The room cleaning was at a high standard, and breakfast service was good too. But over our two weeks there, we never got a parking space and had to circle around the hotel every afternoon. There was no minibar in the room, even though there was space for one, and no kettle or bottle of water.

The wine list is very limited, with just 3 whites and 3 reds. This place has seen better days. Don’t be fooled by the name, it’s run down.
