The landlord, Bäder Immobilien Usedom, was always friendly and quick to respond, which was a real plus. The semi-detached house itself is quiet, though the Usedom Railway passes about 50 meters away and its crossing bell rings with every train. The train noise wasn't too bad, but the neighbor's water pump beside the terrace was more irritating, running around 4:30 to 6:00 PM. Inside, the place looked tidy when we arrived, but the living and dining area felt too small for six people. There is a sofa for at most three and one armchair, so the other two guests would be stuck at the dining table when the house is full. The kitchen is cramped with little worktop space, basic equipment, and worn pans that wobble on the stove. The markings on the stove and oven controls are unreadable, so using them is a guessing game. There was no measuring jug or scale, and the dishes and cutlery, including teaspoons, weren't enough for six unless you run the dishwasher every day. There are no kitchen utensils either. The living room and kitchen windows have no insect screens, so opening them means being surrounded by mosquitoes. The bedrooms do have screens. There is no garden shed, which means bikes and handcarts are left in the rain when the weather is bad. We knew there was no washing machine and accepted that, so I haven't counted it against the place, even though there is a connection in the upstairs bathroom. The rental agency's online description said the beds would be made and that there would be a beach chair on the terrace, but neither was there. Those details also weren't in the booking confirmation, so complain straight away. The furnishing felt functional rather than “lovingly” done, and it was pretty clear the owner doesn't live there.
