Haus Roland _ Wohnung 28

Haus Roland is set away from the center, so it’s nice and quiet. Apartment number 5 had everything we needed for the weekend, and it was clean and nicely furnished. The two single beds had firm, comfortable mattresses. We also really enjoyed the small pool, even if the water was refreshingly cold, then relaxed in the sauna. The dry sauna was quite dark, and its light could do with replacing. Out back, there’s a grassy garden where children can play, and each apartment has its own parking spot. We were very happy with our stay and plan to come back next year.

The garden was a lovely place to sit in the afternoon or evening, with tables and chairs on a large lawn. It’s shared with the other ground-floor apartments, which didn’t bother us on vacation. Our dog was grateful for the space and lounged there on a slightly longer leash. Apartment 2 was clean and well organized when we arrived, and had everything we needed. We stayed for two weeks and found it just as we’d hoped. The bathroom is narrow but long, a bit like a railway carriage. I’m 183 cm and sturdy, and had enough room to sit comfortably on the toilet and move around at the sink and in the shower, so I don’t understand the criticism of it. The apartment is in a quiet spot outside the center, but the beach, shops, and restaurants are all within a kilometer. If we return to Usedom, I’d try to book here again. Getting to the beach or town center means walking up and down hills, so this may not suit you if you don’t like uphill walks. The accommodation itself is lovely, and the pool is a great feature. In winter, though, I wish the water were a little warmer. You should be reasonably fit to get around.

The pool and sauna were only a few meters away, which was great. We were very happy with our stay in the clean, tastefully furnished 61 sq m holiday apartment in House 1, and we’ll definitely book here again.
