Landhotel Kunzental

It’s quiet here, surrounded by nature and birdsong. Breakfast had everything you could want, and it was constantly replenished. Dinner was delicious and carefully cooked, and they accommodated our requests. We were a group of eight, and our table was always ready. Even after closing, we could stay in the evenings, with drinks available in the fridge. The family running the place were very friendly, always available, and quick to find solutions.

We chose a very quiet time in March, which gave us a chance to fully relax. The owner, Mrs. Pfeffer, greeted us warmly and showed us to our room. We really liked the family atmosphere, and breakfast was beautifully presented with everything we could want. The Pfeffer family and their team also gave us lots of helpful ideas for outings. Even the longer trips were manageable by car. Many thanks for such a lovely stay in the Southern Harz Mountains.

I’d already stayed here twice and suggested it as a new destination for our hiking group of 13. We were there from Thursday through Sunday or Monday, and everyone loved the warm hospitality, delicious food, excellent service, comfortable rooms, and kindness of the staff. The senior owner is the heart and soul of the place, always ready with a kind word. Her enthusiasm was inspiring. It was a complete success, and we’d love to come back. Keep up the good work! My earlier review showed up twice. One copy was deleted, so here it is again. :-)

The staff and reception were very friendly, and I’d still recommend this quiet hotel in the Harz Mountains. You can head out for a walk directly from the hotel, even though there isn’t much to do in town. The rooms have what you need, some with balconies, and the beds and mattresses were fine. The bathroom and shower were adequate too. We only had breakfast. It was a standard buffet with cold cuts, cheese, jam, muesli, fruit, and the usual options. Coffee came from a thermos and tasted perfectly acceptable. I think everyone could find something to eat. Dinner was a different story. While we were there, the choices were very limited and far too expensive. A tiny schnitzel with a handful of fries, more like a child’s portion, cost €22. We only ate there once. Maybe the restaurant has improved since then.
