Hollhouse - Bed & Breakfast

Before we even arrived, the hosts asked about food preferences and intolerances, and the breakfasts still managed to exceed what we expected. They were incredibly varied, with thoughtful little surprises and food quality we haven’t come across elsewhere. The hosts also gave us really useful tips for restaurants and things to do nearby. We love small, individual places, but HollHouse changed how we think about holiday accommodation. We felt treated like friends from the start, and the warmth, service, and general quality were unlike anything we’d experienced before. It was the most pleasant and relaxing stay we’ve had. If there were more stars or bigger-smiling emojis to give, I would.

We came back to Hollhouse with our two little ones, now 3 months and 2 years old, and had an even better stay than the first time. Andrea and Robert are wonderful hosts. They helped us plan our days and find good places to eat. The area is lovely for walking and relaxing.

There’s lots to do around Hinterzarten, from hiking and swimming to just exploring. The town has lovely little shops and great restaurants, and Hollhouse is also a good base for day trips to Switzerland or France. Breakfast, made by our lovely hostess, had everything we could want. The Hollhouse is one of those special places you remember fondly and want to return to. We highly recommend it, and always enjoy coming back to the Black Forest to stay with our two hosts.

We came without much of a plan for our Black Forest holiday, but Andrea gave us great ideas for outings each day and even arranged restaurant visits. That really helped us settle into holiday mode. Breakfast felt like a luxury every morning, and the accommodation has so much care in the details. Andrea and Robert are incredibly warm. We felt like friends rather than guests, just as their “Arrive as guests, leave as friends” slogan says. Hollhouse Bed & Breakfast is a little gem in the heart of the Black Forest. We’ll definitely return.
