Hotel Merkur

I’ve been staying at this nearby old hotel for around 12 years while performing at Liederbuch in Lichtentanne. The host or owner is always ready for us, and the back parking lot is great, with easy access. There have been updates over the years, including an elevator, Wi-Fi, and basic bathroom renovations. The rooms are quaint and small, the beds are okay, though the single beds wouldn’t be comfortable for XL guests. The linens are fresh and clean. I really like the in-room fridge and the help-yourself snacks and refreshments. It’s quiet in the evenings, but the street below gets noisy by the early rush hour. The entrance may be dark, but your experience here surely won’t be. For someone health-conscious like me, breakfast could be better. I hope they offer some fruit or vegetables in future.
