The booked “cozy studio in the Bavarian Forest” was canceled just an hour before our scheduled arrival, when we were already on the way. The reason given was damage caused by previous guests. Since this is a complex where apartments seem to be rented under different names but share the same address, I'm leaving my review here. If possible, I'd give zero stars. I couldn't reach anyone by phone, and after asking for a callback to discuss whether we could accept the damage, nobody called back. I also never got the access code email that had been promised for the evening before arrival, as agreed by phone three days earlier. It was all very strange. A popular festival was happening nearby at the time, so finding somewhere else to stay was really difficult. Absolutely unreliable host. Never again!

Communication was very difficult and took hours to sort out. Things only moved faster after I pushed for an explanation, and it wasn't clear who I was dealing with. When a refund was offered, different prices were suddenly given for the nights, and now I'm expected to accept it. Very disappointing. The apartment had been listed as a separate unit, rather than part of a hotel complex. Paying the tourist tax was difficult, and no amount had been stated. I didn't get my tourist card until two days later. The balcony wasn't private, and its door couldn't be tilted open. The bathroom was very dirty, the shower door wouldn't close properly, and I had read through the mattresses. The hallway carpet leading to the apartment was filthy.

This is a review of Ms. W.'s booking and rental service only, not of the website provider, since I can't submit a review otherwise. I am not allowed to mention names here, or Google won't publish it! The apartment was spacious and extremely well equipped. We were very comfortable and will definitely come back. There are plenty of hiking routes around Zwiesel, including options for beginners. The half-board meals from Ms. W. were first-class. Breakfast had everything we could want, and the four-course dinner was discussed with the guest each morning.
