Hotel Schachten

We spent a week here and felt very much at home. The staff were so friendly and the service was excellent. We were completely happy with our stay and would gladly return.

The hotel is fantastic, with wonderful summer hiking routes. In winter, cross-country skiers glide along those same trails, and the Czech border is nearby.

The peaceful setting alone is priceless. Our hostess Jana and her dog Robbie welcomed us warmly and did everything they could to make us happy. It felt like one big family, as if we’d known each other for years. Every meal was lovingly made by hand with fresh ingredients, and everything was delicious. Highly recommended. Thank you so much, we’d love to return!

The owners are so warm, friendly, and attentive that they make sure everyone feels at ease. This simple, slightly dated hotel has its own charm, and everything is meticulously cared for. The rooms have recently been renovated as apartments. We’ve stayed at Hotel Schachten for a few days in June 2022 and again in August 2023. The quiet is the real highlight, and the place is a dream for nature lovers. You don’t need a car while you’re there. Just step outside and head into the beautiful “primeval forest.” My husband and I care a lot about fresh, high-quality food, and every meal delighted us. Everything was imaginative, lovingly prepared, and delicious, with no convenience food. I’m vegan, which was no problem at all. We loved chatting and enjoying a really good dinner, and they even made me a wonderful porridge as a special breakfast treat. :) :) :) I’m already looking forward to another getaway at this beautiful place.
