Best Western Premier Dj Hotel

The rooms were exceptionally clean, the mattress was very comfortable, and the shower had perfect pressure and temperature. The WiFi was incredibly fast. After the long drive from Berbera, Somalia, that shower felt like a welcome luxury. The TV channels didn’t work, but I could log in to my own streaming services, which was a nice option. One downside was breakfast: at other Best Westerns and most hotel chains I’ve stayed at during a year of travel through 33 African countries, it’s included in the room rate. Here it costs an extra $20, which seems high, especially since a guesthouse down the street included bed and breakfast for a third of the price. All in all, I had a very pleasant stay 😊!

The staff were all amazing with me. It’s a nice hotel for spending a few days in Djibouti, especially if you’re a woman traveling solo.

The security service was horrible. I was humiliated in public just for being a young woman, and treated like a criminal. Is this how you treat customers and stop them from discovering the menu and the rest of what you offer? They were completely disrespectful. The worst part was that they lied to me and showed me a man who wasn’t even the manager. I’m furious that I was humiliated like that, and that he also wanted to touch my girlfriend. They had no respect for people or their rights. I advise people not to go to this hotel. It discriminates against people and doesn’t know how to satisfy its customers. It doesn’t deserve even this one star!

I spent four nights at Djibouti Best Western. The room was very clean, and the bed was quite comfortable. Everyone on staff, from reception and restaurant waiters to security and housekeeping, was very friendly and spoke good English. Breakfast had a decent variety, and the WiFi worked well the whole time. I’d recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Dgibouti.
