Boutique Hotel Royal

We had a great view of the cathedral and city, and the rooms were soundproofed with soft beds. The staff were attentive and nice. The bartender at the queen's garden was especially wonderful, and even let us try a cocktail he was developing. Super nice hotel.

I left a small personal item behind at Hotel Royal on Feb 23. After I told them that morning, the hotel arranged to have a lost and found service ship it back to me, and it reached me in the United States on March 2nd. I’m very grateful to everyone on staff for helping. The service alone would make me recommend Hotel Royal, and the location and room quality are two other big selling points. I also really appreciated how easy it was to connect to the Wi-Fi and stream or cast content to the TV. Thanks again!

We had a lovely view from our spacious, comfortable room, and the beds were cozy. The room also had beautiful historic character. Staff were warm and attentive from the moment we arrived, and breakfast was great. It’s an iconic hotel with timeless charm. We enjoyed our stay and hope to return.

The location is amazing, right in the centre near the shops, cafes, bars, and main attractions, and breakfast was nice. But I wouldn’t recommend staying here for the price. My room was very dusty and hadn’t been cleaned properly. The air-conditioning didn’t cool at all, it only heated, despite the booking saying rooms have air-conditioning. When I raised the heat issue, staff offered no real solution beyond a fan. The room stayed uncomfortably hot, and I could barely sleep most nights. They also wanted to charge me to check out at 1pm instead of noon. Breakfast ends at 10am, which feels very early by European standards. For a five-star hotel, the service was really disappointing. This feels more like a three-star place, and you can get better value elsewhere.
