Scandic Aarhus City

The location is great, right in the city centre, and breakfast was quite good. Rooms are compact and cosy, with comfortable beds and a locker. There's a coffee maker, but no tea, and the amenities are missing body lotion. The air-conditioning seemed to be switched off.

The rooms and hallways are worn and really due for a renovation, as far as I know, none is planned. Service at both reception and the bar was good and friendly.

The lobby and bar were great, but the rooms felt really run-down, and the staff seemed pretty uncoordinated. Mixed experience.

Getting around was easy, with public transport nearby and the city center close. The staff were polite, helpful, and kind, which I appreciated. The surroundings are lovely and relaxing, and there are some nice activities for families with kids. The room needed much more careful cleaning. I noticed hair in the bathroom, toothpaste marks on the sink and walls, and stains on the towels and around the toiletries, all left from previous guests. The floors also didn't feel clean enough to walk on barefoot, and there were no slippers. The room supplies weren't checked properly either. On day one there was tea but no coffee, and no shampoo. Coffee appeared only after I asked and the room was cleaned the next day. The shampoo situation was the same. For a hotel at this standard, it was disappointing that basic items weren't restocked. Breakfast, or supper, was acceptable but quite basic, with little variety and not many colorful options. The room cleanliness and attention to details really need work.
