Hotel Svanen, Stays & BW Signature Collection

Being close to Lalandia, Legoland and Lego House is the big plus, and I wouldn't mind returning. It's an average hotel with a fairly good breakfast selection. The room could suit a couple or a family with one child, but might be small for two kids. For some reason, the power kept going out in our room.

Legoland was about a 15-20 minute walk away. Our room was clean and comfortable, and the bed was decent. Nothing especially memorable, but everything worked as it should.

We booked because of the Christmas deal with Legoland, which included a two-day voucher, and had a really relaxing visit. Legoland was about a 10-minute walk, and the service was lovely. The kids had plenty to choose from at the buffet. My friends enjoyed the Wienerschnitzel, and my beef fillet was very tender. Breakfast was good too, with different breads, cheeses, meats and cereals. The rooms had great skin products, and before leaving we bought a lovely-smelling soap at the counter. Would recommend.

The people we met on staff were charming and kind, but I can't recommend the place after our New Year's stay with our family. We wish we'd stayed home, and hope this isn't a preview of 2026. The kitchen was closed on the 31st, which we hadn't been told before arriving. We ended up with convenience-store food in our room, with nowhere else to celebrate. That part was understandable. The worse problem was a drunk man from the hotel bar knocking on our door three times on the 30th to ask for cigarettes, frightening the kids. Then on the 31st, another family in the same situation shouted in the hall all evening. No staff were around to manage the noise, so we had another restless night with very young children. The food was so-so and could use some care in revisiting the dishes. My feedback is for the hotel organizers.
