We had lovely slow mornings in the breakfast room during the Jule season, and the sunroom with couches was a nice bonus. Staff were very accommodating, bringing black coffee and as many specialty coffees as we wanted. The bar and happy hour were fun, and the drinks were great. The location was fantastic too, and I'd gladly come back again and again. Depending on what you pay, it may be worth considering that there's no help with suitcases and no AC. We're athletic, so the stairs up to the lobby weren't a problem for us, but they could be for others. We visited in winter and didn't miss having AC.

I stayed at Hotel Kong Arthur in Jan/Feb 2026 and felt at home right away, thanks to the relaxed Scandi decor and friendly staff. It overlooks the frozen lakes, and the location was excellent for walking to all the places we wanted to see. The room was clean to our exacting standards. I was very glad the window opened for fresh air.

The bar had an excellent drink selection, and the bartenders were great at helping us find just the right choice. We booked a Junior Suite and it worked out really well: plenty of space, well equipped, comfortable, and stylish without feeling overdone. The entire property feels warm and cozy, with hygge vibes throughout. Staff were supportive, helpful, friendly, and genuinely attentive for all three nights. Everything felt thoughtfully arranged, and the room was a comfortable retreat after a day in the city.

The local produce at breakfast was a highlight every day, and hiring bikes from the hotel made it easy to see lots of the city. I stayed last September for my husband's 40th and loved the cosy hour. The hotel felt perfect for the occasion, with nice decor and a modern feel.
