Ascot Hotel

The lovely staircase and stucco walls give the place a lot of character, and there’s a nice bar with outdoor tables for a final drink. We came back because it’s good value for money. The rooms are high quality, the mattresses comfortable, and reception is friendly.

You can walk to all the main attractions from here. The hotel is clean and tidy, and the staff were really friendly, from reception to the cleaning team. A good choice if you want somewhere a little more luxurious than some other hotels without spending a fortune.

The lobby is nice and the location is good, but the room was really poor. There was a terrible smell from the drain pipes, the shower curtain kept sticking to me, and the room was warm. Staff only opened the windows and did nothing else about the smell. All that for a supposed deal costing over 250 euros a night. I wouldn’t recommend it.

The room was the worst part of our stay. It wasn’t clean, and only on the last day did I realize how dirty the bed sheets were. For a four star hotel, that was really disappointing. The location is very good for walking around central Copenhagen, and the staff were okay. Breakfast was okay too, though the scrambled eggs tasted like cinnamon.
