The location is great, and we had a quiet stay on the fifth floor. There's a lift and a secure room for luggage. The shared space and welcoming reception staff really make up for the fairly basic rooms and bathrooms. They also offer free wine between 5-6pm.

The hotel's location made it easy to get around the city center, with most attractions nearby, two metro stations within reach, and restaurants, takeaways, and four supermarkets just a short walk away. It was also one of the least expensive places I considered, even compared with hostels, and we had a very good five-night stay. Christian IV turned out to be a comfortable choice for the price. Our room looked onto the courtyard, so it stayed quiet throughout. The classic decor is a little dated but still has a timeless feel, and the room was just right for a couple. It was clean, simple, and comfortable. The hotel is staffed around the clock, and they were glad to answer questions. Free tea and coffee were a nice touch, and the Honesty Bar had a good range of snacks and drinks at reception. We could take vouchers in exchange for skipping room cleaning, which suited us since we liked the privacy and didn't need the service. Getting free snacks and drinks too was a pleasant surprise. They also stored our luggage before arrival and after checkout at no charge, which helped.

The free espresso was a real treat in a city where coffee can be pricey, and the concierge was helpful. My wife and I stayed in May and were pleasantly surprised, especially after reading some negative reviews. Our room was spacious and clean, and the bed was comfortable. The hotel is in one of the city's best areas, close to sights and restaurants. I'd happily stay again if I come back to Copenhagen.

We were just a short walk from lots of points of interest, but the hotel itself sits on a really quiet street. The rooms got pretty warm at times, and I wish there had been a larger fan. We also only had one key for the room. Still, it's a lovely little place with great service, which felt personal, perhaps because the hotel is small. I liked spending afternoons in the lobby lounge playing cards and having a few drinks. The honesty bar and free coffee machine were nice extras. We didn't buy breakfast, but seeing it set out each morning made me wish we had.
