Copenhagen Island Hotel

We stayed for a few nights in May and loved everything. The room was a good size, the bed was comfortable, and the employees were friendly. The view was beautiful, the location was great, and breakfast was delicious. Highly recommend it, and we'll definitely be back.

The breakfast was tasty and had a really good selection. Alex from the bar and restaurant deserves a mention too. He's a lovely man and gave us lots of sightseeing tips. The hotel was very clean and comfortable, though the bedroom was a little too warm for us. There was tea and coffee-making equipment in the room but no milk, so we had to buy some. The location worked well for Tivoli Gardens and the Meat packing district, with some good restaurants nearby. It's also close to the river ferry and the metro, which is a great way to get around the city.

We chose a harbor-view room, and the view was beautiful. The hotel felt peaceful and had a warm atmosphere, and we really liked our stay. The only small misses were having no coffee machine in the room and no disposable slippers. Those would have been nice to have.

The room was small, as you'd expect from a standard double, and with two big suitcases from international travel we had little space to open and close them. It would be fine for one person or someone with fewer bags. We didn't realize the chips and peanuts by the kettle weren't complimentary until later, though we would have bought them anyway. Getting in and out of the bathtub was difficult because it was quite high. It also didn't have a door that closed fully, so water splashed onto the floor and made it slippery. We had to move the small floor mat around to soak up the water, so be careful. We left too early to try breakfast, though I'd heard good things about it. The place was clean, the bed was comfortable, parking was available out front, and road noise wasn't too bad. The location was good and close to nice places to eat. It's a good spot if all you need is a nap and a shower.
